Sixteenth day Mt. Misen and Hiroshima!

Got the ropeway up to the top of Mt Misen as it was to hot to climb but took the 1 hour walk back down (it had so many steps :p) There were a lot of deer and snakes walking down (had to watch where you trod.)
There were signs saying beware of the monkeys but we didn`t see any. Had a great view from the top and quiet as we were up here about 9 am. (it had a 360 degree view from the top.)
These are islands near Hiroshima and Miyajima island on the in land sea.

Hiroshima from the top of Mt Misen.

Needed one of these when you reached the top as you had to walk some of the way up from the ropeway. (I think it must have been the steepest bit :p)

Went to Hiroshima in the afternoon to see the A-bomb dome and Memorial gardens and museum.
This photo kind of tells you all you need to know of  the devastation. It was very sad to see as it had personal stories about individual famlies and how it effected them with their personal belongings or what was left of them.

Its hard to see but this is the Eternal flame that won`t be put out until all nuclear weapons and other mass destruction weapons have been destroyed and there is peace.

The area was swarming with school trips going to the museums and doing topics on peace. They were stopping all the westerners they could see and asking why we had come to Hiroshima and where were we from, favourite food and then they said thank you and gave us a small paper crane as a gift and is a symbol of peace and hope.

When we were answering some more questions from some school kids this tv crew came over and started to record it (it was really scary)
The camera crew suddenly jumped on Lynda when she was taking a photo and started asking her questions on why she had come to Hiroshima and how it had made her feel seeing all of this.

Mermorial park this was epicenter of the bomb that dropped just above the dome everything around it was reduced to dust and ash.

This looks disgusting but we had to take a picture of this Mega burger in macdonalds (I have no idea how you would eat it or even hold it without it falling to bits. :P)
